Inclusion is earned, never bought. Here's exactly how a company makes it into the guide — and how it can be removed.
Featured companies earn their place through recommendations from local homeowners and ongoing customer feedback. Only businesses customers would confidently recommend to friends, family, or neighbors are considered.
We review customer feedback across major platforms — Google, Yelp, Angi, Facebook and more — and require featured companies to maintain a minimum 4.5-star rating. Satisfaction is continuously monitored throughout the year.
We verify required licensing and active insurance coverage before a company can be featured, and review business reputation and practices to maintain our quality standards.
We know inviting a contractor to work on your home is a big decision. That's why we carefully screen every company featured in this guide and continue monitoring customer feedback throughout the year.
Our review process includes:
If a problem occurs and you are unable to resolve it directly with the contractor, contact us — we will review the situation and help facilitate a resolution. Eligible projects may qualify for up to $5,000 in customer protection.
To qualify for protection:
At the end of each year, we randomly select a list of a company's clients to conduct satisfaction surveys. If the overall client rating falls below 95% satisfaction, the company is excluded. If a company's Google rating falls below 4.8, the company is excluded.
